How to use this diagram
- Hot Data refers to data you are actively working with - it needs quick access, frequent updates, and often collaboration.
- Cold Data refers to data that is no longer actively used but needs to be preserved for legal or scientific reasons.
- Hover over the "?" icons to learn more about each tool, including storage limits and key features.
- Follow the decision flow in the Cold Data section to determine the right preservation strategy for your research data.
