Medical & Clinical Repositories

Access to medical and clinical data is often restricted due to privacy regulations. However, several open datasets, controlled-access repositories, and synthetic data sources exist for research purposes.

Important Note on Data Access

Many medical datasets require:

  1. Institutional ethics approval or IRB review
  2. Data use agreements (DUA) specifying permitted uses
  3. CITI training or equivalent research ethics certification
  4. Controlled-access applications with justification of research need

Always check access requirements before planning analyses with clinical data.
